Two years of Behr Hella Service
Thermal management expert for passenger cars and commercial vehicles successfully established in the international aftermarket
Paris/Schwäbisch Hall, 15th October 2007. About two years ago, Behr Hella Service introduced itself for the first time as a supplier of high-quality thermal management products for the automotive branch at the Equip Auto Paris. The company began operations on 1st November 2005. In the meantime, Behr Hella Service has developed successfully and extended its presence – initially limited to Europe – to South America, NAFTA and Asia/Pacific. From October 2007 there will be a Behr Hella Service agency in South Africa, too. This puts the company in a good international position.
"Following our successful start in the European aftermarket, we have expanded our activities to South America and have been in operative business there since October 2006," explains Jürgen Laucher, one of the Managing Directors at Behr Hella Service. The company is based in Arujá in Brazil, where one of the production locations of the parent company Behr is also located. From this centre, company business is coordinated for Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Columbia and Ecuador. Since the beginning of April 2007, the thermal management expert Behr Hella Service has also been represented in the NAFTA Region ("North American Free Trade Agreement" between Canada, USA and Mexico). Just as with the European locations, the joint venture company of the automotive suppliers Behr and Hella uses the tried-and-trusted network of Hella sales companies and distribution channels in the USA, Canada and Mexico, too. This results in synergy effects with the Hella product fields of electrics, electronics and lighting. Behr Hella Service North America is based in Peachtree City in the US-American state of Georgia. This is also home to the American Hella sales company Hella Inc.. In July, the Singapore branch was opened. From here, the markets in Asia, New Zealand and Australia are supplied with Behr Hella Service products.
With more than 6,000 individual parts for vehicle air conditioning and engine cooling in more than 20 product groups, Behr Hella Service provides optimum cover for the aftermarket and garage requirements, thus guaranteeing comprehensive air conditioning servicing for garage customers. The right product for passenger cars and commercial vehicles can be chosen from a range covering O-rings and consumables through spare parts and tools to air-conditioning service units.
Behr Hella Service products benefit from Behr's original equipment manufacturer competence. The company is a system partner to the automotive industry and specialises in vehicle air conditioning and engine cooling. Behr is one of the leading original equipment manufacturers for passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the world.
About Behr Hella Service GmbH
The EU commission approved the founding of the new joint venture Behr Hella Service GmbH in the independent European automotive parts aftermarket on 1st December 2005. The joint venture company between the automotive parts supplier Behr (specialist for vehicle air conditioning and engine cooling) and Hella (specialist for components and systems for lighting technology and electronics) serves the global independent parts aftermarket for vehicle air conditioning and engine cooling together. The joint venture combines the Behr Service activities on the independent parts aftermarket and the air conditioning business of the Hella aftermarket organisation. Behr and Hella each holds 50 % of the shares in the joint venture. The combination of Hella's global sales organisation with Behr's product know-how and the linking of activities in the field of vehicle air conditioning and engine cooling for the parts business is a consistent further development of previous cooperation between Behr and Hella in the field of climate control and front-end modules.
